Transformation and upgrading tasks such as transforming development methods, enhancing independent innovation capabilities, and increasing product added value are imminent.

As one of Tongxiang's advantageous industries, the Tongxiang chemical fiber industry has now formed a complete industrial chain from raw materials to clothing. The chemical fiber industry accounts for 35% of the city's industrial output value above the scale. Tongxiang has become an important chemical fiber production base in China. A group of industry leaders. Among them, Tongkun Group is the largest manufacturer of polyester filament in China and in the world, and successfully landed on the capital market in 2011; Xinfengming Group is also one of the leading enterprises of polyester filament in China. At present, Tongxiang has formed industrial clusters such as Tongkun and Xinfengming as chemical fiber enterprises, and assisted with textiles and home textiles. It is an industrial cluster integrating R&D, production, and operation. Its geographic location and market advantages are obvious. As of the end of 2012, Tongxiang's total production capacity of polyester filaments had exceeded 12.5% ​​of the total domestic polyester filament production capacity.

According to Tongxiang Municipal Committee Vice Mayor and Mayor of the Army, Tongxiang will focus on the development of the two pillar industries of chemical fiber and featured textiles and garments in the next few years, and strive to exceed 100 billion yuan in output value of chemical fiber industry by 2016.
