Spinning Association: Researchers continue to develop solar textiles

Researchers continue to research textiles that use solar energy to convert electricity into electricity. Spinning said that the research team at the University of Wisconsin is using high molecular polymers to coat different fabric types to build solar cells from the base layer.

Spinning will point out that although it is not the first time to create solar textiles, the R&D team said that the challenge of integrating technology and manufacturing processes in the cooperation process is to gradually lower the price and attractive solar cells for consumers.

The team is currently using high molecular weight polymers to coat different fabric types and structures, which adds 10 times more conductivity to the fabric. Once fully coated, the fabric will act as the bottom electrode and the base layer above will be used as the rest of the solar cell.

Spinning said that next year, researchers hope to use this coating technology to develop prototypes. Their goal is to verify the feasibility of this concept, weaving each component together, using two dyes, two Electrode, make a connection point with full function.
